Next meetup: Pimp My Zombie, Photoshop Plugin development, free software!

Thursday 20 June at 7:30pm

Pimp My Zombie (FKAFOUG)

The group formerly known as “Flash Oxford User Group” are launching a competition called Pimp My Zombie. They will be sharing a complete set of artwork on the ever popular zombie theme. This includes animated characters, location graphics and sounds. In fact everything you might need to make a game, animation or even a documentary film! To get the scoop join John Twycross & Tim Watts on June 20th at Film Oxford.

Guy Henstock: Photoshop Plugin development

Guy will be speaking about a Photoshop plugin project he worked on at the end of last year.  Although Guy has been a Photoshop user for more than 14 years, he had never developed a plugin before.  Guy will be talking about how he came to be asked to develop the plugin, the process of learning ActionScript through to the final stages of the project.

December meeting report

Thanks to those of you who came along to the crowded Far From the Madding Crowd December meeting on Wednesday night.

Congratulations to Adrian for the raffle win, and Sharon, Iona and Julian for their mini-wins of the wondrous Adobe water bottles! At least we think they’re water bottles not specimen bottles.

Have a great Christmas and New Year, and our next meeting will be on January 19th. This may be a session about Adobe Business Catalyst, but we also have animation and Photoshop sessions already lined up for next year.

Wednesday night – Christmas meeting with raffle

Oh, it’s the last meeting of the year for the Adobe Dreamweaver User Group, and we’re holding a raffle!

We’re going casual, and are going to meet at the Far From the Madding Crowd pub, Friars Entry, Oxford, OX1 2BY
It’s down the passageway between Tescos on Magdalen Street and Gloucester Green.

Here’s a location map.

Date: Wednesday 15th December – that’s THIS Wednesday

Time: 7:30 pm – 9.30 pm

Just turn up and be ready to chat
If you haven’t been before, we’ll be the ones sporting something Adobe like, as a clue. Probably a T-shirt, or a pen, or a mug. Or all three.

We’ll be holding our occassional raffle of Adobe software, so that’s $2,100 worth of Adobe software, usually one of the suites, Production or Web etc.

The deal is, we send the email of our lucky winner and what they want to win directly to Adobe and they supply the serial number to the winner.

  • Upgrades aren’t allowed, nor are part-payments
  • Your name will be pulled out of a hat, and you have to be there to win
  • You do not have to buy the organisers a drink to win
  • You are welcome to buy the organisers a drink anyway

Meetings next year kick off on January 19th, so look out for notification about speakers for that one.

Meeting dates for 2011 have been decided, and we’ll be moving to new virtual premises at www.oxfordadobecreatives.co.uk soon.
